Let’s talk about navigating stress

As a mental health therapist, I'm here to share some tips for going through life's storms and finding your calm amidst chaos.

1. Breathe Deeply: When stress hits hard, take a moment to breathe deeply. Close your eyes, inhale slowly through your nose, and exhale through your mouth. It sounds simple, but it works wonders in calming your mind and body. I think of my favorite smell for inhaling and blowing a bubble for exhaling!

2. Create Your Sanctuary: Designate a space in your home where you can unwind and relax. Whether it's a cozy corner with a soft blanket and your favorite book or a spot in the garden where you can soak up nature's serenity, having a sanctuary can provide much-needed refuge from the hustle and bustle of daily life. I used to do this clients often- even if it's a corner or the living room, a place that is a calming corner can be helpful.

3. Find Your group: Surround yourself with supportive friends and family who lift you up and make you feel understood. Connecting with others who share your struggles can provide invaluable comfort and perspective.

With this in mind, let's jump into this week's therapist mama bear tip!
