Let's chat more about self care

My last blog post was about creating a list of self care and I wanted to pop in and say... I did it!

So here's my list!

  1. Go on walks (even if short)
  2. spend time with the boys
  3. Talk to friends
  4. Take baths
  5. Get a new book and start reading it
  6. Go on date nights
  7. Eat ice cream
  8. Take a break from the news/social media
  9. Sit and watch the birds/nature
  10. Listen to podcasts that are fun to listen to

Creating this list made me re-affirm that it is ok to do small things to take care of ourselves! I know sometimes, we think that self care has to be grand or big- like daily massages, spa treatments and going on vacations. And while those things are nice, it may not be realistic for everyone!

One thing that I did that was helpful (and maybe silly) was that I sat in my mother's backyard and watched the Birds! My mom feeds the birds so she tends to have many different birds visiting her, including hummingbirds! Here's a photo I took of a sweet hummingbird.
