Let’s talk about mental health stigma more

Last week, we talked about stigma around mental health and what we can do about it.

This week, we are continuing our conversation about this!

  1. Acknowledging Progress: see and celebrate the progress made in mental health awareness and advocacy. By acknowledging achievements, we inspire further positive change and encourage others to join the movement.

  2. Acknowledge our own progress : celebrate your OWN progress! Maybe you were someone that grew up thinking or believing "therapy is for weak people" - and now you see the strength in going to therapy. That's a big change and step! Wherever you are in your journey, celebrate your self!

  3. Compassion Starts with You- Compassion for others... and for yourself! Sometimes the second one can be harder.

  4. Be mindful of our language- the way we speak matters! Avoid negative language around mental health and mental illnesses- we never know what struggles people are going through. Avoid saying things like , "boys shouldn't cry." Or "girls shouldn't be too loud."

With these in mind, let's jump into this week's Therapist Mama Bear Tip!
