Let’s talk about aggressive communication style

There are four types of communication styles. Many say 3 and the 4th is a blend of two types, but let's examine four separately!

The first type is called aggressive communication.



For aggressive communication, it usually is filled with a lot of "you statements". It basically means, statements like "YOU are the one that makes me feel this way. YOU are the one that is wrong.", etc.


They tend to be loud, talk over people, name call, etc. The pro that people say about this is that they feel like they are "Expressing themselves". The con is that there is no actual communication taking place... Because usually, when someone starts talking that way, the other person stops listening .


We usually shut down or become aggressive in our communication ourselves! So there is no connection that takes place.


I imagine it like trying to hug a cactus! It hurts!
