For the last. 2weeks, we have been chatting about being kind to ourselves!
For this week, I thought it would be nice to continue that chat a bit more.
Seeking Professional Help
Recognizing when we need additional support is a key part of self-kindness. If feelings of anxiety or mental health challenges become overwhelming, reaching out to a mental health professional can be an important step. I always says this to my clients- it isn't weak to get mental health help- actually, it's very strong. Being able to acknowledge that we are struggling is HARD. Being able to ask for help is HARD! And... showing up to those sessions, and sharing ourselves, is HARD. AND... you deserve to do that hard work- because you are important.
Involve Others in Your Journey
Engaging with support groups or online communities can foster connection and understanding. Sharing your experiences with those who face similar challenges reinforces the idea that you are not alone in your struggles. This is why I share about my journey (and the boys!). Through this journey, I have met the most amazing people (hi you- thank you for reading!)
Embracing Your Path to Kindness
Self-kindness is a crucial yet often underestimated aspect of maintaining mental health. By treating ourselves with gentleness and compassion, especially during anxious times, we can navigate life's hurdles more effectively. While changing deep-seated habits of self-criticism may be challenging, every small step towards self-kindness counts..
