Let's continue our chat on life transitions

Last week, we chatted about how to navigate life transitions. Since all of us go through changes through our life, I thought it would be nice to keep chatting about it! So let's jump in!

Remember that changes can be physically and emotionally draining. Make sure to take care of your health by eating well, getting enough sleep, and exercising regularly. Small exercises help too! For example, a short brisk walk around the neighborhood, swimming, or anything that you enjoy to move your body! Taking care of your body can help you manage stress and stay resilient in the face of change.

Also, make sure that you are giving yourself time to adjust to the new circumstances. It’s okay if things don’t go perfectly or if you feel uncertain at first. Remember, we are our worst critics sometimes! Set realistic expectations for yourself and others, and allow yourself the space to adapt and grow into your new reality.

Acknowledge and celebrate the small victories along the way. Whether it’s mastering a new skill, making a new friend, or simply getting through a tough day, celebrating your progress can boost your confidence and motivation! When I was a new mom, I can say that one of my wins was that I took a shower without excessively worrying about the boys. Or texting back a friend when I was feeling overwhelmed. Small wins are a win!

With these in mind, let's jump into this week's Therapist Mama Bear tip!
