Let’s chat about taking a mental health break

How often do you take a break?


I used to ask this to my clients and their caregivers often. Surprisingly (or maybe unsurprisingly) the answer often was that they do not.


But the truth is, if we don't take breaks, we don't really get to recharge- we are running on empty!


Here are some ways that we can take a mental health break!!

1. Plan Breaks: Schedule regular breaks in your day. I do this to make sure I get that break, because if I don't, I won't do it!!

2. Change Scenery: Move around to a different spot. Most of my jobs, I work from home! So I go on walks outside but I also move around the house as I can!

3. Breathe Deep: Take slow breaths to relax. I try to do this a few times an hour! Scheduling it in can be helpful.

4. Quick Hobby: Do something fun for a few minutes. I listen to podcasts or play a quick game! What can you do?
