Let’s chat about burnout

As someone who has been in the helping profession for over 10 years now, (quite a bit more) I have seen great people burn out.

What is burn our?

Burnout is when one fees totally exhausted—emotionally and physically—because of long-term stress. It often happens when people are overwhelmed by work or responsibilities.

Signs include feeling tired all the time, not caring about things they used to enjoy, and struggling to focus.

People can make careless mistakes when this happens! Or it causes them to leave.

To avoid and stop burnout, there are a few things we can do!

For example...

set boundaries between work, family and personal time

do things you love- what are things that you love to do?

talk to friends or professionals - it is not a weakness to ask for help!

It is hard to be the person that is taking care of others! Whether it is our job or our role, it is important to remember that we are important too!

With that in mind, let's jump into our Therapist Mama bear tip for this week!
